The Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout is pleased to announce the launch of the IHRSA Joining Forces Network, an affiliation of health clubs throughout the country that will offer free memberships to immediate family members of actively deployed reservists and National Guard members.

Joining Forces is a comprehensive national initiative launched by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden to network with health clubs to provide these memberships.  As a member of IHRSA (International Health Racquet and Sports Association), The Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout is proud to be part of this effort to provide the opportunities and support these families are due.  The freedoms that each of us enjoys every day are possible because of the sacrifices that our nation’s military families bear.-


The IHRSA Joining Forces Network hopes to offer at least 100,000 free health club memberships throughout the country, the equivalent of more than 18 million days of free access to health clubs and an estimated value of more than $30 million.

In addition to free membership, The Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout will also be providing free: Child Care, Group Fitness Classes, Personal Training, Reformer Training and Nutritional or Weight Loss Counseling.

As a business in the community, The Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout stands ready to serve our nation’s military families and offer them a safe, supportive environment where they can exercise and find encouragement in their efforts to stay well through healthy lifestyle choices.

Beginning June 1^st, eligible military families can contact The Weight Room Plus Wanda’s Workout, 225 Montauk Hwy, Moriches (Monarch Shopping Center) 631-878-0005 to activate their membership.  In addition, military families can find participating clubs in their area at www.healthclubs.com.
